During the Session of the JINR Committee of Plenipotentiaries, which took place on 25 May 2014 in Dubna, Ing. Rostislav Mach, DrSc. was awarded the JINR Medal of Honour for outstanding contributions to science and development of JINR and relations between the Czech Republic and JINR. The award was presented by the director of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Victor Matveev. Rostislav Mach was the Plenipotentiary of the Government of Czechoslovakia, and afterwards the Czech Republic, in JINR from 1991 till 2014. Dr. Mach dedicated lots of effort to the successful development of collaboration between the scientific centres, universities, and corporations of the Czech Republic with the international scientific institute in Dubna.
