On February 25th, 2016, Miroslav Zeman (Ph.D. student at the Brno University of Technology and the younger researcher at the laboratory of nuclear problems at JINR) obtained the
Brno Ph.D. Talent award from the mayor of the city Brno Petr Vokřál.
Competition for the first course Ph.D. students from the Brnos universities – Brno Ph.D. Talent - has taken place since September 2015. Around 90 students from different scientific fields participated in the contest. The projects were connected with the topics of their dissertation theses. After three rounds, Miroslav Zeman was able to get to the finals where he succeeded and, with 14 other colleagues, obtained the
Brno Ph.D. Talent award. His project focuses on the determination of the neutron flux in a spallation target with the use of threshold activation detectors. The experimental part of this project is conducted in the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research.
